The Great Race

Here is an epic, period, big budget, Hollywood studio production starring a young Natalie Woods with  direction by the immortal master of cinema, Blake Edwards. It stars Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, Peter Falk. The inventiveness of the studio prop dept. really shines in the marvelous array of nifty gadgets presented in this film. It takes Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang one further. You have it all with a first rate director, A-list Hollywood stars, Henry Mancini writing the notes and Edith Head draping the actors in the period get ups.

Get it on Amazon, rent it from Netflixs, do what you must, but dont miss this one. Another great family popcorn night movie.

  1. GREAT movie! Our family quotes this movie from time to time, because we all have it memorized! The pie fight and the Boracho bar fight are the best scenes in the movie.

I'd like to hear from you!
