French Oatmeal

Bonjour mon ami!

 

Oh-la-la! Zees eez zee best break-feest in zee world. I found a version of zees in zee book “French girls don’t get fat”. Only mine eez sweeter. It eez wonderful, pleeze try eet.

to feed 2 un-ger-y people you need

  • 1 cup Old Fashioned Oatmeal
  • 1 small apple, peeled cored and grated, or 1/2 a larger one
  • a drizzle of Maple Syrup (Zee real thing, no Aunt Fi-Fi imitation)
  • 1/4 cup milk of milk
  • brown sugar to taste
  • Pinch of salt

In a saucepan, heat 2 1/3  cups of water to boiling. Meanwhile, grate the apple.

When boiling, add the oatmeal and the grated apple. Let boil for about 5 minutes.

Now add a pinch of salt, the milk and some maple syrup. Heat for 1 minute more.

Pour into 2 bowls, sprinkle tops with brown sugar. (just a teaspoon or 2). go for a walk in zee woods like zee 3 bears and come back to eat your french oatmeal, if Goldilocks has not beat you to it.

      1. That plus all of those illicit clanestine affairs that they all seem to be having (menage a trois is, after all French ;)), its no wonder they have no time to put on a bit of real meat 😉
